In addition to our offerings at Urban Retreat Center, we are pleased to offer retreats throughout the US, Peru, and Mexico, where we can immerse ourselves in the culture and ancestral traditions of our deepest inspiration.
Partnering in collaboration with Peruvian Shamanic healer, Mary Ann Eddowes, the Urban Retreat Center is thrilled to offer new retreats and events to support our community in healing through plant medicine.
Moche Priests & Priestesses of the North
November 5-21, 2023

Explore the vast landscape and ancestral traditions of Peru’s North Coast. Starting in Lima, the retreat slowly brings our travelers North and connects them deeply to the energy of the land and ocean, through Trujillo and Chana along the coast, all the way to the beach town of Chiclayo.
The trip will begin with time to ground and explore Lima's food, arts, and culture. From Lima, the journey continues to the sacred site Huaca Cao near Trujillo, home to the storied Lady of Cao, a Mochica Priestess known for her ancestral skills in divination and working with coca and a heritage strain of lima bean. We will explore the heritage sites of Huaca Cortado, Huaca Cao, and Huaca Prieta, where we will work with the local shamans in connection with the feminine energies of this sacred space.
Next, we will move north to Chiclayo to visit the Market de Curanderos and move on to the pyramids of Tucamay. At the pyramids, we will sit with the powerful healing energy of grandfather Huachuma and close out the ceremony with a flower bath of local herbs, essential oils, and flower essences, aided by the land and the medicine to cleanse and release any energies that are not serving us.
Finally, the trip concludes with a stay on the edge of the beach just an hour and a half south of Ecuador in the quiet town of Los Organos. The environment will be elevated and relaxed; we will spend the day connecting with local vendors and artisans and conclude with a dinner served by a private chef before returning to Lima for our final departure from Peru.
Please note the main destinations on this itinerary will stay the same, but some of the smaller, lesser-known temples and spaces will change due to seasonality and therefore are not listed in detail. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience not to miss, with many of the smaller, lesser-known spaces not listed being able to be accessed only with a local guide with express permission.
Fees include hotel, ground transportation, some meals (as specified in the final itinerary), accommodations, ceremonies, and offerings.
Please note: No domestic or international flights are included in the retreat fees, and all flights must be booked ahead of event start dates.

Re-Encounter with Our Andean Ancestors

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Peru with this expansive itinerary that takes you off the beaten path through the powerfully energetic Sacred Valley to the portals of Aramu Muru.
The journey begins with a few days to ground and explore the arts and culture in Lima before departing to the mountains of Cusco. The group will explore outward from Cusco, first stopping in the great city to convene with a welcome circle and give personal offerings to open the retreat and ask permission from the elements to connect and enter the sacred spaces. Working with local native healers to see how they facilitate healing in communion with nature and the elements, we will witness the Andean Culture in all of its splendor.
The journey will follow the path less traveled, stopping at lesser-known local temples and archaeological sites that truly showcase the secrets and power of these ancient lands. We will move through Ollantaytambo, through the lower jungle, and to the ancestral citadel of Machu Picchu. From there, we will travel through Inkilltambo, hike with a local healer, and sit with the powerful grandfather Huachuma as we enter the sacred temples of the masculine and feminine. Moving south, we travel to Puno and stay at a locally owned hotel on the shores of Lake Titicaca, experiencing the energy of these healing grounds at an elevation of 12,500 feet.
Next, the trip continues with a boat ride to the magical islands of Uros and Taquile, a remote, otherworldly place where the locals remain deeply connected with their sacred culture. We finish the trip in connection with the earth and the spirits at the portals of Amaru Maru; a remote place filled with picturesque red rocks sculpted by the gods, covered with motifs of faces, birds, animals, and geometric doorways into the mountain itself.
From Aramu Muru, the retreat will close, and we will depart to Lima for our final evening together in Peru.
